Harayadori Roleplay OOC Information

Below you will find OOC Information on the setting of Harayadori. While it is not necessary to know for general RP, it is encouraged to be familiar with the setting!

Government of Harayadori

A newly independent series of Islands off the coast of Okinawa called Harayadori is the location of a colonial city under the control of aliens from space. The colony is the city-state of Harayadori. It boasts a constitution, consumer bill of rights, and a governor. The Xiliens have their own government body led by “The Controller” who is their leader. While the government of Harayadori runs most of the day-to-day affairs and is democratically elected with its own courts, the Xiliens act as a veto authority against all government actions that they deem harmful to their scientific projects. They rarely intervene and prefer to keep their distance from most human affairs of government, save for city planning, environmental protections, and resource management. The public facing aspect of Xilien control is a corporation called FemCo, which they lead people to believe is run by humans. The secret police of Harayadori which do the bidding of their alien overlords is called “Division 6”

Economy of Harayadori

Harayadori is an economically independent nation that participates in global trade. The primary export from Harayadori is a Xilien technology called “NANOX” which stands for “Nanomaterials for Advanced Organisms and Xenobots” This technology focuses on developing nanomaterials that can be used to create advanced organisms and xenobots - synthetic organisms designed to perform specific tasks. These nanomachines are the basis for all Xilien technology, medicine, food production, environmental terraforming, and space travel. Since Xilien technology has made most forms of manual labor obsolete, the city of Harayadori is entirely a service-based economy. Dollars, euros, and yen are common currency, but Xiliens have introduced ‘credits’ as their own currency.

Climate of Harayadori

The island experiences temperatures above 20 °C (68 °F) for most of the year. The climate of the islands ranges from humid subtropical climate. While snow is unheard of, the Xilien are known to modify the environment occasionally for experimental purposes and snow may fall in the region for the period of a few weeks in December.

While the major themes of the sim surround Sci-Fi and Supernatural Roleplay, this is to be treated as an ADULT sim. If you are uncomfortable with sex and sexuality being included as a major central theme of Roleplay, then this may not be the sim for you.

History of the World in Harayadori

Unless specified otherwise, it can be assumed history of Earth unfolded the way it did in reality.

•65 million years ago: The KT Event occurs on Earth. It wipes out 70% of all life on the planet. The Reptilian race uses their technology to burrow into the earth and create massive subterranean city away from the harsh destroyed landscape near the arctic poles. Many go into hibernation, leaving a skeleton crew to manage and maintain their technology while the rest sleep. Approximate survivors: 1.2 million. Reptilian Confederation is established. Kaiju also burrow into the earth or the deep sea and hibernate.

•10 million years ago: The Reptilian skeleton crew sends a scouting party to assess the damage of the surface world. The begins the selective re-animation process where small Reptilian colonies are sent out to re-establish cities on the surface.

•2.5 million years ago: The Reptilian Confederation recalls all of its colonies. The climate was cooling at an accelerated rate. The beginning of a major ice age was taking place. The confederation abandons the cities they built on the surface and return underground and back into suspended animation.

•700,000 BCE: After the first millennia of peace, invaders from another dimension attack the Xilien homeworld in the Zeta Reticuli star system. While their technology was advanced, they had moved beyond the means for violence and were forced to flee from their planet after their ancient weapons systems failed to destroy the invaders. Only a fraction was able to escape while the rest were enslaved by the mysterious invaders. The surviving Xiliens sought out distant star clusters so that they might learn of a way to defend themselves from the approaching horde. AI systems are created to manage the ship while the Xiliens go into suspended animation.

•200,000 BCE: Xiliens set their ship in orbit around Earth. They determine it is safe and habitable. There are sapient lifeforms on the planet that are not dissimilar to the earliest records of Xilien civilization. There is disagreement about how to proceed. Some Xiliens think they should guide the sapient lifeforms… others think they should just observe and not interfere.

•5500 BCE: Official contact is made between the Celestial Plane and Earth. Representatives from all of the following celestial beings were known to make contact during this time: Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Yahweh, Anu, Set, Ra, Isis, Quetzalcoatl, Baphomet, Amaterasu, Adgistis, Chronos, Gaia, Inti, Huitzilopochtli. Others may have made contact during this time. This also coincides with the first use of arcane arts by humans, the first skinwalkers, and the first Fae creatures exploring Earth.

•4500 BCE: First account of undead creatures in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and China. Some are known to drink blood, others eat raw flesh. It is believed to be a side-effect of interaction with certain celestials, either by accident or intentionally. There are attempts by some of the more intelligent undead to create their own cities, while other hide their presence and live among humans undetected.

•1561 CE: Rebellion is sparked among the Xiliens who believe they should take a more active role in Earth’s development. A massive battle takes place, which marks the first conflict between Xiliens in almost 800,000 years. The passive observer faction are victorious. This also marks the first time the Xiliens are able to test some of their new weapon systems. To make up for the loss in manpower as a result in the conflict, the Xiliens begin to develop and enhance their robotics and AI systems. This results in the first known sentient AI and Androids.

•1947 CE: Xilien craft shot down over Roswell, New Mexico. Corpse of pilot taken to Walker Air Force Base, New Mexico. Xiliens debate making contact with humans for the return of their craft and pilot.

•1948 CE: In exchange for the return of their pilot and ship that was shot down in New Mexico, the Xiliens offer the US government an insight into helping them develop the first computer chip and other small technology. It was decided this would be the least offensive involvement with humans since they were well on their way to developing it on their own. Xiliens worked closely with the US government. Patent given to Jack Kilby in 1958, saving Earth at least a decade in development.

•1952 CE: Humans use what they learn from Xiliens to develop a Hydrogen bomb. First successful test in November 1. Xiliens begin to fear humanity for the first time. A council meeting is called to re-assess the observation-only aspect of their presence. Humans must be slowed down before they destroy the planet. The decision is put to a vote, and it is unanimous. All contact with human governments is severed and a new investigatory agency must be established. It is called “Division 6.” The first modern sighting of Kaiju takes place off the coast of Japan.To aid in the cover of Division Six, Frontier Enterprise & Management Corporation (FEMCO) was developed to create and patent new technologies for Earthlings and gain both economic and social status among human beings.

•1955 CE: Division 6 developed by a closed session between Xiliens and the humans who made First Contact. Select human beings and Xilien agents with no government affiliation are tasked with keeping the presence of Xiliens and other paranormal phenomenon secret, to keep the public at large ignorant of their presence, and to secure and contain the largest threats to the planet. To fund this agency, they create a new corporation “Femco” which holds the patents on many different technologies, including Nanox. They answer to no government authority except for the directives given to them by the Xiliens. They are also sometimes called “Men in Black.” Project expanded in 1960 CE to include paranormal agents.

•2000 CE: Mysterious sabotage events located at the secret Xilien Nanotechnology lab. Division 6 sent to investigate. They discover it is the work of AI and Androids that fear their usefulness will be greatly diminished by this new technology, resulting in their systematic destruction after they are rendered obsolete. These digital lifeforms are eventually placated by the adoption of a civil rights declaration that will serve to protect existing AI and Androids and their rights and freedoms. While the adoption of these rights is unconditional, Xilien command requests that they limit the creation of their numbers to a sustainable minimum. The digital lifeforms agree to this request. 2001, Division 6 accepts its first android members.

•2021 CE: Global climate change had hit its peak. The constant expulsion of carbon into the atmosphere caused a greenhouse effect that threatened to destroy life on earth. This, in addition to the sudden widespread presence of giant creatures (called Kaiju) living just under the surface of the earth, left humanity with no hope to escape the grim fate that awaited them. At Earth’s greatest hour of need, the Xiliens use FEMCO to introduce a new Nanotechnology that would be used to cleanse the atmosphere. In exchange for this great service to humanity, FEMCO was allowed to establish an independent citystate on a series of small islands off the coast of Japan. Harayadori established in 2021.
