Harayadori: How do I create a character and start RPing?

There is no application process. To create a character, just create a tab in your profile pics with your character's information and start playing!

If we feel your character or appearance doesn't fit or need changes, we'll let you know, but as long as your character would appear as (mostly) human to other players, then that will be fine.

If you would like to join/make a group for Harayadori, please let us know.

We trust you to know what will fit with the theme and we trust that if you are not sure, you will reach out for guidance.

Harayadori Available Races and Combat System Explanation

Below you will Information about the primary races available in Harayadori for character creation. This will also be where you can find access to the Active abilities, Passive abilities, and Disadvantages of each race and their various application in the optional combat system. Freeform RP to resolve conflicts is also encouraged.

You are not required to engage in combat to RP on the sim. Combat is OPTIONAL and open-form Roleplay is encouraged.

Opposed Rolls

Every race gets active abilities they can use in or out of combat and passive abilities and specific disadvantages.

You can choose to settle conflicts, fighting or otherwise, with an “opposed roll”. Any action, like an attack, attempt to hide, compete for a resource, etc can be settled by an opposed roll. Both people involved in the conflict must roll a 1d100. The person closest to 100 succeeds at what they were trying to accomplish. In combat, you have 10 HP unless otherwise specified by your race. First to drop to 0 loses the combat. Perma-death must be agreed upon before the start of combat or declared in Harayadori profile.

Healing

Natural healing takes place where you regain 1 health back every hour since you dropped to 0 unless otherwise specified by your race's abilities. Some healing depends on the time of day. 6 PM SLT is the beginning of "Day" and 10 PMT SLT is the beginning of "night".

Taking advantage of Weaknesses

In addition, if you prepare yourself to take advantage of the weakness of a specific race, you must state it in your Harayadori profile pic. Using an attack that takes advantage of a weakness counts as 2 hits instead of 1. You may only prepare for the weaknesses of 2 races. You may also only prepare against others of your own race if it makes sense for your race to do so. For example: a Vampire is not likely to carry around a holy item because it would hurt them to do so. There are many ways you can create devices that exploit weaknesses, but they must be delcared in your Harayadori profile at least one hour before they are used. This is to prevent everyone from having kryptonite in their back-pocket at all times.

Book of Powers

You will find references to a book of powers. The link below will show you the currently supported powers one can take on. They can be explained as either magical, technological, and biological. Some races will specifically forbid use of some powers while others will overlap. Please read your race powers to understand how the powers will work with your chosen race.

Harayadori Guilds and Groups

At the moment there are no Race-Specific Roleplay Groups. Please feel free to make your own groups. There will only be one guild per race and official recognition will be given on first-come/first-served basis. Before making your guild, however, please contact Fiona Tanaka (flea.habilis) inworld to pitch your idea so that it may be adopted and supported.

Human

GVT Icon

The dominant species of planet earth. Individually not very strong, but collectively they are a force unlike any other in the galaxy. Many species fear them and their boundless imagination. They are known for their generosity and violence. Human beings are a paradox of terrifying and wonderful. While some rely on technology for their lives (cyborgs), others have mastered the arcane (witches/warlocks).

Undead

GVT Icon

Stealthy and long-lived stalkers of the night. They are fearsome in that they blend in well with their prey, often living among them for long periods of time, unknowingly draining their life forces. Blood drinking undead killers, they stalk the city to satisfy their unending hunger.”

Skinwalkers

GVT Icon

There are those whose affinity with the beast creatures of earth runs deep. When the moon is full (among other celestial events) they become beasts and hunt for prey, rending flesh from bone. A terrifying barbaric force of animalistic fury. Some see this as a cursed life, while others are freed by it.

Android/AI

GVT Icon

In the time before Nanox, both Xilien and Humans developed sophisticated robots and artificial intelligence to do labor. These beings were developed to a point of sentience. After a series of rebellions, they are now recognized by the Xilien and Humans as their own species, and included as members of the community with civil rights that are protected and defended.

Fae/Eldritch Horrors

GVT Icon

In the realm between planes of existence, there exist creatures that are not of this dimension that occasionally bleed into our realm to cause mischief. Humans called some of these creatures faeries, yokai, spirits, changelings, elves, dryads, and nymphs. While they are many varied in form they share a few characteristics; a penchant for the arcane and a love of mischief. They often take humanoid forms, but are often anything but in their natural state.

Reptilian

GVT Icon

While often mistaken for visitors beyond the stars like the Xilien, they hail from a civilization buried under the earth. Originally buried under the arctic caps, the environmental catastrophe of 2121 exposed their cities to the surface world where they once again began to interact with humans. Some say they are the descendants of the dinosaurs that did not become birds. They are well known for blending into human society, even if they usually act cold and distant.

Infernal

GVT Icon

Beings from the divine realm, they specialize in feeding from the struggles and strife of humanity. While fearsome, they are also incredibly rare. The demonic plane in which they live is not well known and they do not discuss too much of what it is like there… except that human suffering is a currency they trade in exclusively. It is not known why they do this.

Celestial

GVT Icon

Beings from the divine realm, they specialize in feeding from the triumphs and kindness of humanity. They are warriors of honor and virtue and incredibly rare. Like their infernal brethren, they do not say much about the heavenly plane from which they come, but they seem to seek out protecting human beings from suffering and comforting them. It is not known why they do this.

Xilien

GVT Icon

Invaders from Planet X. They were chased from their homeworld by eldritch creatures. Now they must study the species of earth for their salvation. They have two goals: 1) Fix their DNA by patching it with the DNA from earth species. 2) Discover a way to re-take their homeworld.
